After recently having another two very high water flows in the creek at our second property, we welcome some more help to get back on our feet. Our farming operation, located 35km north of Goomeri QLD, consists of beef cattle, growing and irrigating of cattle feed and lucerne, as well as making hay for sale.
Tasks:
There are a wide variety of jobs to be done, meaning there will be something to suit whatever you would prefer to do. Tasks include clean up from flood damage; ie. flood fencing repairs and re-erecting of fences, debris removal on fences and cultivation areas, assisting with road repairs, excavator work to repair banks and erosion, reburying poly pipe, and irrigation repairs. Other ongoing tasks include tractor driving; ie hay production and cultivating paddocks, general machinery maintenance, cattle work and gardening.
We are also looking for a hand to prepare campsites to welcome caravaners to stay by our creek. We are hoping to diverse our income to not be solely reliant on agriculture.
We are flexible and happy to work with volunteers to find jobs suitable.
Accommodation: We have a couple different accommodations options. Our home property has workers quarters that is fully lined with cemented verandah area, inside shed is a kitchenette area, shower, toilet, laundry tub and a separate bedroom. Or you could park a caravan here and plug into power and water. Or at our second property where the flood damage is, is a shed where you can set up your caravan. Shed has solar electricity and gas hot water, toilet, shower and kitchen sink.
We are so very grateful to the wonderful people that has helped us in the past and look forward to welcoming other new friends. If a few hours a day in exchange for the country atmosphere is your ideal thing that is okay. If longer hours a day in exchange for the country atmosphere and meals supplied and shared together is your ideal thing that is great also.
