Experience the beauty of rural Victoria by helping out at on our farm! Our family-owned broadacre beef farm near Bairnsdale is seeking a reliable and hardworking individual or couple to assist with various tasks on a volunteer arrangement.
At our farm, you will have the chance to immerse yourself in the farm life, enjoying activities such as tending to our veggie garden, minor fencing work, general tidying, and potentially some cattle duties (depending on your experience). We welcome individuals with farming experience, but it is not necessary if you have a passion for learning and helping out.
We are also potentially seeking a caretaker in early Spring, if we can arrange for some time away from the farm but this is yet to be confirmed. If you are available around this time, please reach out so we know if this could be possible.
In exchange for your assistance, we can offer you a unique and peaceful experience. You can have access to a private cottage, with kitchenette, and bathroom facilities. Alternatively, if you are self-contained, we have space for a motorhome with access to power, water, shower, toilet, and washing facilities.
During your free time, explore the local area and its many attractions. East Gippsland is renowned for its natural beauty, with stunning lakes, rivers, and beaches that offer a range of outdoor activities such as swimming, boating, fishing, and surfing. Explore the nearby Gippsland Lakes Coastal Park, where you can hike along coastal trails, spot native wildlife such as kangaroos and wallabies, and admire breathtaking views of the ocean.
If you prefer to explore the region's history and culture, visit the Bairnsdale Regional Art Gallery or take a tour of the historic Krowathunkooloong Keeping Place, which showcases the rich cultural heritage of the local Aboriginal people.
After exploring, head back to the farm and relax, taking in the peaceful surroundings and enjoying the fresh country air. And when you're feeling peckish, head into the nearby town of Lindenow and enjoy a delicious meal and a cold beer at the Lindenow Hotel or the locally owned and very popular Long Paddock Cafe.
Our family has a deep-rooted history in the area, with our great grandmother establishing the farm in the late 1800s. We take great pride in our history and we are excited to share this experience with like-minded individuals.
Whether you're seeking a chance to learn about farm life, or simply a change of scenery, we welcome you to stay with our farming family. So if you're ready to embrace the tranquility of rural Victoria, please get in touch!
